DIFFERENCES BETWEEN TOKYO AND JAKARTA

            Each contry in the world, has minimally one big city. A city is a symbol of a country’s civilication. Each big city has own design that makes it is different with another city. Tokyo and jakarta are two big city which have some differences in building, transportation, and social condition.

            First, Tokyo and jakarta are different in building architecture. Building in tokyo must have good quality, because the builing must face four seasons especially summer and winter. In contrast, building in jakarta must not have good quality like in tokyo because the season in jakarta is different with the season in tokyo. that is way the architect in jakarta never think to prepare the building which can adapt with the four seasons. In addition, as we know that based on geography condition, tokyo is a city that often happen earthquake. that is way the buildings in tokyo such as hotels, offices, restaurants, companies,and  factories must be built by strong quality building materials and must be desingned by special architecture called anti-earthquake architecture to keep the building  when earthquake happen, so the building is not broken. On the other hand, architect in jakarta in designing a building  is not too focus in preparing the building if suddenly the earthquake happen.

            Second, another difference  between tokyo and jakarta can be seen in transportation aspect. Kinds of transportation of the two countries are different. In jakarta, we can find traditional vehicles such as becak, andong, ojek, and bajaj, but in tokyo it is imposible to find these vehicles. Beside that, train in jakarta and train in tokyo are different. In jakarta, there is no subway that passangers can use to go to their destination. Jakarta’s passanger just use usual train such as trains that we can find in Gambir station. In contrast, in tokyo, we can go to some places by subway, because in tokyo there are some subway station like Tokyo station. In addition, train ticket buying system between tokyo and jakarta are different. Tokyo, the capital city of japan which is standing  on the first rangking  in technology development in the world, has been appliying train ticket buying system by computer. The passanger in japan easiily ge the ticket by computer without standing in line in a station. Different with tokyo, jakarta station is still apliying standing in line system in selling  a ticket.

            In addition, the other difference between tokyo and jakarta can be seen in social condition. In tokyo, if someone put something in a place for example someone put a bag in a harbour, and then he forget to take it,, the bag will be safe because no body will steal it. In contrast,in jakarta, if someone put a bag in a harbour and forget to take it, in five minutes he will not see the bag again because jakarta is not safe city. Another difference from social condition between tokyo and jakarta is the busy time of the people in the two country.in tokyo,most of people leave their home and begin to work at 05.00 am, then back to home at 20.00 pm. That is way  streets in tokyo is not busy at 21.00 am. On the other hand, in jakarta, the busy time of the people is until 24.00 am even untill 05.00 am, so very seldom to see the streets in jakarta be lonely. Everytime streets in jakarta are busy continuously even in the midnight.

            In brief, although both of the cities are two big cities in Asia, but they have some differences that make them become unique. Their differences are influenced by natural condition, social condition, and country development. Tokyo and jakarta are two interesting countries in asia even in the world.
